Nature is abundant at Daybreak! It is not uncommon to see deer roam through camp, hear early morning bird songs, see gopher snakes slither on the grassy knolls, and lizards of all sizes scoot and dart about. Because nature is so interesting to young people, Daybreak has a small but fascinating hands-on Nature Center. An informal presentation is available upon request for your campers.

Daybreak is a perfect home base for an active group who wants to explore offsite activities. Right around the corner you’ll find Roaring Camp Railroad; continue down the mountain 8 miles and enjoy the sandy beaches and white waves of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and the Santa Cruz Wharf.
